Director Operations (Grade – VII)

The incumbent is required to demonstrate strong leadership traits, management skills, out of the box thinking, decision-making and exceptional interpersonal & communication skills. The incumbent is responsible for leading and coordinating operations while ensuring quality in production processes. The incumbent is responsible to enhance production through plant upgrades, ensure availability of required resources, process improvements, wastage control, and enforcement of quality standards. The incumbent is tasked to lead the Production and Engineering teams and provide guidance in order to increase efficiency of the operations in accordance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following: 
  1. Lead strategy development in the areas of production and engineering to ensure that Corporation achieves its short and long-term objectives.
  2. Develop and implement all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that the Production and Engineering functions achieve their business objectives.
  3. Prepare production monthly and annual schedules/plans and review them once prepared for any adjustments.
  4. Monitor the operations according to the plan and take steps to ensure the target achievement on a daily basis.
  5. Present operations performance review to the Management and the Board on quarterly basis.
  6. Direct and control the production function to ensure that banknotes and prize bonds of the required standard are available to customer at the right time.
  7. Monitor the level of wastage at each stage of the production cycle, investigate reasons for significant variances, and evolve solutions tailored to specific plant conditions.
  8. Oversee engineering activities, which includes periodic, preventive, and predictive maintenance of the machines.
  9. Hold regular coordination meetings to collectively deliberate on problems, bottlenecks, and impediments to production flow.
  10. Plan, direct, control, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast budgets and cost of sales in each division to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
  11. Act as the Corporation’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keep abreast of latest developments to ensure that the company maintains its competitive position.
  12. Participate in evaluation of suppliers and bids.
  13. Provide expert advice/training in conceptualizing and implementing solutions to problems in production planning, maintenance, and production quality.
  14. Review, evaluate, approve, and monitor results of special projects designed to improve production processes, enhance quality, and reduce wastages.
  15. Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the Operation’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  16. Ensure that all Production and Engineering employees are appropriately motivated and trained and carry their responsibilities to the required standards.
  17. Maintain an effective working relationship with all Functional Heads to ensure that there is effective coordination of all corporation’s activities in support of corporate objectives.
  18. Keep abreast of latest developments in printing technology and best market practices and update the Managing Director on development initiatives under consideration and solicit his inputs for improving the proposed solutions.
  19. Commission research in the field of engineering and production to ensure that the organization implements policies and approaches that will improve operational effectiveness.

Eligibility Criteria:
Education:          At least 16 years of education (Bachelors / Masters) from reputed university recognized by HEC. In case the degree is obtained from a foreign university, the short-listed candidates shall be required to submit the equivalence certificate from Higher Education Commission (HEC) at the time of interview.
Age:                       Maximum 50 years as on the last date of submission of application to PSPC.
Experience:        Minimum 20 years’ experience, at least 10 years at a senior management position.
