Manager – Electrical (Grade – III)

Manger Electrical is responsible for the smooth operations of machines, power generation, absorption chillers, HT/LT networks and distribution system as well as ensure uninterrupted electrical power generation and transmission and to develop and monitor a program for the electrical maintenance of plant, machinery and equipment to ensure that these continue to operate at optimum levels with the least period of downtime. Furthermore, the position is required to ensure the timely availability of machines spares efficiently.
Key Responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Supervise team to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the engineering strategy to ensure that expectations/targets are met.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of all necessary systems and procedures to ensure that electrical process operates effectively.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules for plant, machinery and equipment to ensure that these continue to operate at optimum levels.
  • Monitor the performance of plant and equipment while ensuring that timely maintenance as per OEM manual, design specifications, and agreement.
  • Monitor and revise maintenance schedules as necessary to ensure their continued effective performance.
  • Ensure availability of redundance capacity by effective maintenance of used as standby equipment.
  • Monitor the results of the planned maintenance program and introduce any required changes where effectiveness needs to be improved.
  • Determine the optimum level of spare parts to be held in stock to ensure that availability is maintained at minimum cost.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of stocks and maintenance carried out. Maintain contact with other departments to ensure that any plant shut down is carried out at minimum cost and inconvenience.
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments in maintenance practices and procedures to ensure that there is continuous improvement in maintenance standards.
  • Ensure that all documentation and procedures are provided by suppliers and contractors when receiving new plant and equipment.
  • Ensure smooth operations and availability of all utilities including maintenance of facility and residence area.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets to ensure that project is completed within agreed costs.
  • Demonstrates ability to envision, energize, engage, and enable a team through role-modeling and execution of maintenance plans.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop & coach workers to generate and execute action plans that drive root cause elimination of losses.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, professionalism and ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner while responding positively to constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills such as: directing a group in an organized manner through the resolution of problems, staying calm in emergencies, developing and executing plans, data-based decision making, personal ownership/accountability for the equipment health, and organizing and assigning work during downtime.
  • Demonstrates a self-directing and self-motivating attitude. Demonstrates a high sense of urgency to initiate impacting changes and new activities to help achieve department goals.
  • Act as a technical and operational resource, who can train, coach, and develop subordinates.
  • Ability to develop maintenance plan of factory, plant and residence electrical requirement and its execution.
  • Commission research in the field of electrical to ensure that the organization implements policies and approaches that will improve electrical effectiveness.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Education:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree (16 years) in Electrical Engineering from reputed university recognized by HEC.
  • In case the degree is obtained from a foreign university, the short-listed candidates shall be required to submit the equivalence certificate from Higher Education Commission (HEC) at the time of interview.
  • Age:
  • Maximum 35 years as on the last date of submission of application to PSPC.
  • Experience:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory role.
