Manager – Mechanical (Grade – III)

The Mechanical Manager is responsible to ensure the smooth operations of printing machines, plants and associated utilities as well as develop ways to improve systems and processes. Moreover, the position is required to ensure timely maintenance activities as well as collaborate with local/foreign vendors for technical assistance.
Key Responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Supervise team to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the engineering strategy to ensure that expectations/targets are met.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of all necessary systems and procedures to ensure that mechanical process operates effectively.
  • Demonstrates ability to envision, energize, engage, and enable a team through role-modeling and execution of maintenance plans.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop & coach workers to generate and execute action plans that drive root cause elimination of losses.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, professionalism and ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner while responding positively to constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills such as: directing a group in an organized manner through the resolution of problems, staying calm in emergencies, developing and executing plans, data-based decision making, personal ownership/accountability for the equipment health, and organizing and assigning work during downtime.
  • Demonstrates a self-directing and self-motivating attitude. Demonstrates a high sense of urgency to initiate impacting changes and new activities to help achieve department goals.
  • Act as a technical and operational resource, who can train, coach, and develop subordinates.
  • Ensure that all processes, plant, equipment, and buildings are maintained timely and as per standards. Perform task according to standard engineering procedures.
  • Effectively develop, monitor, and control budget.
  • Maintain a regular liaison with other functions to ensure that plant and equipment is operating smoothly.
  • Plan a preventive maintenance schedule and ensure that all necessary maintenance is carried out appropriately.
  • Regularly review, maintain and update maintenance record of all plant & equipment.
  • Identify and resolve any issues relating to maintenance procedures of plant / equipment.
  • Ensure that all mechanical maintenance engineering activities are carried out in accordance with the Corporation’s health and safety requirements and in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation. Responsible to maintain inventory of machines’ spares as per defined level.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause diagnosis using the quality tools including but not limited to pareto analysis, FMEA, etc.
  • Commission research in the field of electrical to ensure that the organization implements policies and approaches that will improve mechanical effectiveness.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Education:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree (16 years) in Mechanical Engineering from reputed university recognized by HEC.
  • In case the degree is obtained from a foreign university, the short-listed candidates shall be required to submit the equivalence certificate from Higher Education Commission (HEC) at the time of interview.
  • Age:
  • Maximum 35 years as on the last date of submission of application to PSPC.
  • Experience:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory role.
